IKEA has revived some pieces from its
NYTILLVERKA archive, reimagining some for today's customers. The new collection includes four
retro-style chairs, a mid-century bench-turned-coffee table, a shelf, and a pendant lamp. I highly recommend checking out the renderings on the website, where you can see an overlay comparison of the original designs versus their modern updates in an interactive way. It's a fascinating look at how timeless design can evolve!

Standout Pieces From The Nytillverka Collection:MOFALLA Chair (1978 reissue)
This bent steel tube chair only comes in this off-white color (for now?!). It folds up for easy storage and is a classic that would look good in any space! Pro Tip: Because the seat height is only 16" high we would not recommend this as an extra dining chair- but it's perfect for casual seating!
GUTTANE Coffee Table (1963 reissue)
Once a bench, this now serves as a mid-century style coffee table. True to its mid-century proportions it stands just 12 inches tall, where coffee tables generally are between 14-16 inches, but I think that's "normal" for this style! Need a shorter table? It also comes in a cutie side table version.
SKÅLBODA Chair (1987 reissue)
This metal chair would be perfect for a funky apartment or or teens' room. Even though it resembles a patio chair, it is not recommended for outside use. You can choose from 3 colors-orange, black or white. I might be biased because I am an 80s kid, but this one is my favorite!
I noticed all these items all come with 10-year limited warranties, although less expensive IKEA furniture can truly stand the test of time!
